Colorado trails vary in difficulty from those for Beginners to Moderate, Difficult, and trails for Technical riders. We recommend getting maps and as much information as you can before trying any trail. For those who are fit and have adjusted to the elevation, here are just a few of the great trails you may like to try within easy driving distance from downtown Denver along with phone numbers where you can get up-to-date information and / or maps of these trails. The times listed do not include time to get to the trailheads; they represent the time on the bike.

Apex Park
  Distance: 5.1 miles
  Elevation Gain: 1,120 feet
  Difficulty: Moderate to difficult - Steep climbs, switchbacks
  Surface: Rocky single track

Chatfield State Park Loop
  Distance: 15.8 miles
  Elevation Gain: About 100 feet
  Difficulty: Easy
  Surface: Paved road & trail

Dakota Ridge Trail
  Distance: 4 miles out and back
  Elevation Gain: About 1,300 feet
  Difficulty: Moderate with difficult sections. Exertion high on return trip climb.

Elk Meadow Park
  Distance: 4.8 miles
  Elevation Gain: About 600 feet
  Difficulty: Easy to moderate

Golden Gate Canyon
  Distance: 24 miles round-trip
  Elevation Gain: 2,500 feet
  Difficulty: Exertion high / strenuous

Mathews/Winter Park
